Mindfulness Meditation
In-person sessions every Thursday
Practice the art of attention in this weekly meditation session inspired by a work of art from the Rubin Museum’s collection and guided by teachers.
For centuries Himalayan practitioners have used meditation to quiet the mind, open the heart, calm the nervous system, and increase focus. Mindfulness Meditation is a refuge from the world around us, as well as an opportunity to engage with it more consciously.
Open to beginner and skilled meditators alike, the 45-minute program includes an opening talk, a 20-minute meditation session, and a closing discussion. Meditation programs are always free for Rubin Museum members.
Following the closure of the 150 West 17th Street location on October 6, our cherished weekly Mindfulness Meditation sessions will continue as an in-person program in New York City. Starting Thursday, October 10, Mindfulness Meditation will be hosted at New York Insight Meditation Center, located at 115 West 29th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues).
Join us weekly on Thursdays at 1:00 PM for the same enriching experience led by teachers you know and love. Members will continue to receive complimentary tickets to these sessions, ensuring that your mindfulness journey with the Rubin continues. The final Mindfulness Meditation program at the Rubin’s 150 West 17th Street location will be on Thursday, September 26. It will be a special program spotlighting women’s leadership in American Buddhism.
