This program explores Tibetan medicine, its relationship to Western medicine, and how medical concepts are expressed in the art of the Himalayan region. This is displayed particularly by the Blue Beryl Thangkas, a seventeenth-century series of medical paintings based on a text of the same name, as well as paintings and sculptures in the Rubin Museum of Art collection.
