Explore the relationship between art and science within Buddhism and contemplative practices inspired by the exhibition, The All-Knowing Buddha: A Secret Guide. Participants will study the art in its Tibetan Buddhist context and learn how similar ideas are being discussed in contemporary neuroscience. Each class will feature a meditation practice designed to cultivate compassion as well as a discussion on the neurological effects of positive emotions. Rubin Museum educator, Tashi Chodron, will lead a special tour and discussion of the exhibition from a Tibetan Buddhist perspective.
