Caregiving for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or dementia can leave you feeling powerless, faced with constant responsibilities and limited personal freedom. Even professional caregivers experience stress and burnout. How can you find empowerment amid these challenges?
This special session of Empowering Caregivers offers a peek into the benefits of art therapy for caregivers. Ikuko Acosta, PhD, ATR-BC, LCAT, director of the Graduate Art Therapy Program at New York University joins participants in taking a detailed look at works from the Rubin’s collection and practicing new techniques for using art as a conduit for self-expression, self-esteem, and resilience’.
This event is intended for caregivers and not for persons with dementia.
