In their stunning new picture book Crane Boy, award-winning author Diana Cohn and illustrator Youme Nguyen Ly take their readers to Bhutan, a country nestled deep in the Himalayan mountains. There a young boy named Kinga learns that the black-necked cranes that have visited his home for thousands of years are endangered. Together with his classmates, he finds a way to help the cranes.
The international launch of Crane Boy begins at the Rubin Museum. Hear a reading of the story that will engage children and adults alike in the Museum’s theater followed by a discussion and a special hands-on arts project. Cohn and Nguyen Ly will be available for a book signing after the event.
